TWO MEN AND A TRUCK got its start in the United States in Lansing, Michigan by Founder Mary Ellen Sheets and her two sons, Jon Sorber and Brig Sorber. The two sons originally began moving people’s belongings around the Lansing area as a way to make a little extra spending money as high school students, but after they graduated and moved away, Sheets kept getting calls for moving services. Soon after, she invested in a few moving trucks, franchised the company, and nearly 40 years later, it is the largest franchised moving company in the United States, with locations in Canada, Ireland, and here in Newcastle.
